I, Abigail, take you, Diego, to be my lawfully wedded husband,
Eu, Abigail, tomo a ti Diego por meu legítimo esposo,

to have and to hold, from this day forward,

in joy and in sorrow,
na alegria e na tristeza,

for richer and for poorer,
na riqueza e na pobreza,

in sickness and in health,
na saúde e na enfermidade,

to love and to cherish,
para amá-lo e acalentá-lo,

até que a morte nos separe.
‘till death do us part.

According to God's holy ordinance,

*thereto I plight thee my troth.
dou-lhe minha palavra.

Hoje em dia muitos preferem usar a forma mais moderna e dizem: "I give you my word" ou "I pledge you my word".

Minister: Do you, Abigail, give Diego this ring as a token of your love for him?

Abigail: I do.

Minister: Please place this ring on Diego's hand and say,

“With this ring, I thee wed”
"Com esta aliança, uno-me a ti."
