Você conhece o termo Minced Oaths em inglês? São “oaths” (xingos, maldições) que foram “minced”. Obvio; não? 🙂

Minced Oaths são muito comuns em inglês.

Por exemplo, no vídeo a seguir a maçã não aguenta mais ouvir a laranja irritante falar, e diz… “Pelo amor de ______, pare de falar por pelo menos 3 segundos! Não consigo nem ouvir os meus pensamentos.”

Só que a maçã não usa este termo acima. Ele usa um minced oath – uma “maldição” que substitui a frase acima sem usar a palavra Deus.

  • yammer = falar sem parar
  • to pant = ofegar

  • to warn = avisar
  • hurt = doer
  • pear = pêra
